Enjoy an Evening of Art in Town Square
Shoppers and diners seem to have come out to Biltmore Park Town Square with the same enthusiasm as the budding trees and flowers. Moda, Constance Boutique, and Talloni are welcoming customers seeking the season's newest fashions, and Cold Stone Creamery and newly-opened O.P. Taylor's are staying busy by offering treats to the young and young at heart. With beautiful weather in the forecast, this weekend promises to be no different, and beginning this afternoon, there will be two additional attractions to look forward to visiting.
This evening, Friday, April 16th, Echo Gallery will host a reception to open its spring exhibition entitled Threads. The show will feature new work by fiber artists Jen Swearington, Libby and Jim Mijanovich ("Mija") and Barbara Zaretsky, as well as ceramic pieces by Emily Reason. In addition to these guest artists, there will be new work from member artists, including painters Genie Maples, Barbara Fisher, Susan Finer, and Cindy Walton; ceramic artist Lori Theriault; photo artist Laurie McCarriar; textile artist Susan Webb Lee; and ceramic sculptor Anna Koloseike. The exhibit will run through May 30th.
This evening, the Hilton Asheville will also host an arts reception to unveil a new exhibit by painter Suzanne Schaffer and photographer Bruce Siulinski. The exhibit will run through May 17th, and both receptions take place between 5 p.m. and 8 p.m. tonight.
After the receptions, consider enjoying the late sunset with a walk down Town Square Boulevard. There are plenty of restaurants that are sure to satisfy even the most discerning taste buds, and outdoor seating will allow you to take advantage of the warm temperatures. And once the sun goes down, the movie theater is always a wonderful destination, too. Enjoy the evening and be sure to stay tuned for news about other upcoming events.
O.P. Taylor's is Opening this Weekend
Visitors to and residents of Biltmore Park Town Square may have noticed a few changes over the past couple of days. Actually, they may have noticed some very big changes that came in the form of larger than life toy soldiers that can now be seen standing guard outside of soon-to-be-open O.P. Taylor's. As anticipation for the opening has grown, so have the soldiers, bright colors, and alluring toys that cover, from floor to ceiling, the glass storefront. It appears that every toy imaginable has found a home in the new store, and shoppers are eager to begin exploring the vibrant world of the young and young at heart.
At 9:30 a.m. on Saturday morning, April 10th, the wait will be over, and they will finally have their chance. O.P. Talyor's is gearing up for its grand opening, and the rumor around Biltmore Park Town Square is that it will be a must-see event. Apart from the puzzles, dolls, games, and plenty of other entertaining items that line the shelves, the store is also set to offer Saturday morning shoppers a few surprises, too. But we won't give everything away; you'll have to stop by Biltmore Park to see what they are.
Shortly after O.P. Taylor's opening, another retailer will welcome Town Square shoppers for the first time. The Natural Home, a retail fixture in downtown Asheville for more than 15 years, is opening in Biltmore Park on April 15th. The Natural Home offers top quality mattresses, bedding, bath items, and unique home accents that emphasize the inherent benefits of natural and organic qualities.
But the excitement doesn't end there. Don't forget to stay tuned for more information about upcoming openings and events. Until then, we'll see you at O.P. Taylor's!
