Get ready, South Asheville. The Bulldogs are coming to Biltmore Park Town Square. UNC Asheville Athletics, Ingles Markets, and the Reuter Family YMCA are partnering with us to host the Bulldog Block Party on Thursday, October 16 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. This free, family-friendly event brings together college athletics, community pride, and local entertainment for an evening that celebrates the best of Asheville. Whether you’re a UNC Asheville fan, a nearby resident, or just looking for something to do on a beautiful autumn evening, the Bulldog Block Party is a great way to connect with neighbors and the greater Asheville community.
This event will transform the Town Square Green into a lively hub of activity. Families can join free sports clinics led by UNC Asheville student-athletes from men’s and women’s basketball, soccer, volleyball, golf, and baseball. These clinics give children and parents a chance to meet the players, pick up new skills, and get an up-close look at Bulldog athletics in action. Guests can also take part in a “tailgate setup race,” play yard games, or stop by the face-painting area. Rocky the Bulldog will be there throughout the evening greeting families, posing for photos, and keeping spirits high. Make sure to keep an eye out for Asheville’s favorite bulldog!
Entertainment: Live music from local favorite Lyric will keep the crowd moving throughout the evening. Her unique mix of R&B, funk, and soul always brings people to their feet and creates a fun, welcoming atmosphere. It’s the perfect soundtrack for a night of dancing, sports, and community connection.
Starting to Get Hungry? Enjoy dinner or snacks from one of the many local spots in Biltmore Park Town Square. From a brisket sandwich at Luella’s Bar-B-Que to Caribbean-inspired plates at Nine Mile we can guarantee you’ll find something delicious. With so many dining options within a short walk, it’s easy to make the evening into a full outing with friends or family. Feel free to grab a meal, browse the shops, and take in the event all in one visit.
Parking: The celebration will take place on Town Square Green in front of the YMCA at Biltmore Park. Our farmers market will be happening from 3 PM to 6 PM so street parking may get filled up quickly. Luckily, free and convenient parking is available in all the parking decks around Biltmore Park
Bring your friends, your family, and your best Bulldog spirit for an evening of music, games, and celebration.
