Vibrant red tomatoes. Fresh baked breads. Homemade pasta. Locally-made goat cheese. All of these products will be available when the much-anticipated City Market South returns to Biltmore Park Town Square on Wednesday, May 5th, from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. The farmer's market, sponsored by the Appalachian Sustainable Agriculture Project, offers residents of South Asheville a unique and welcome opportunity to purchase some of Western North Carolina's very own fresh fruits, vegetables, meats, cheeses, handmade crafts, and more.
The market will line the sidewalk along the median of Town Square Boulevard in the heart of Biltmore Park, creating an ideal destination for one-stop-shoppers. In addition to the market, Town Square's retail and restaurant tenants will also be open for business, and they are well-stocked with apparel, accessories, books, gifts, toys, spa treatments, and food and beverages that promise to keep you prepared throughout the season.
City Market South will be a wonderful addition to Town Square from May through October, offering a variety of seasonal products to patrons. Customers not only will enjoy purchasing healthy and fresh food items but also will contribute to enhancing the local economy and maintaining the area's agricultural heritage. Of course, with so many recipes yet to be tried and so many delicious items from which to choose, visitors will need no other reason than the wonderful offerings to shop at the farmer's market.
But if shopping for local products is of interest, don't forget to stop by Constance Boutique, Moda, Sparrow Spa, or any of the other wonderful locally-owned and operated businesses in Town Square.
