The Appalachian Sustainable Agriculture Project’s City Market South will move outdoors this Wednesday, May 2nd. The farmer’s market will be similar to the one held in downtown Asheville on Saturday mornings and will be a welcome opportunity for South Asheville residents to enjoy convenient access to Western North Carolina’s very own fresh fruits, vegetables, meats, cheeses, handmade crafts, and more.
The market will line the sidewalk along the median of Town Square Boulevard in the heart of Biltmore Park and will offer patrons a wide range of locally-grown and locally-made products. Customers not only will be able to purchase healthy and fresh food items but also will contribute to enhancing the local economy and maintaining the area’s agricultural heritage. The market also complements Biltmore Park Town Square’s focus on sustainability as well as its many locally-owned and operated retailers and restaurants, which will also be open for business at the time of the markets.
City Market South will continue through October 31st, and will take place every Wednesday from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.
