Biltmore Farms Communities Hosts Performances for Wordfest at the Hilton Asheville Biltmore Park

On Wednesday, May 4th, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. the Hilton Asheville Biltmore Park will host an event as part of Wordfest.  Performances by Keith Flynn and the Holy Men along with Quincy Troupe will be showcased in the hotel’s ballroom.  This free event is a part of Wordfest, a six day festival held in Asheville, N.C. celebrating poetry through spoken word, film and song.

A reception for this event will be held at the Hilton Asheville between 6 p.m. and 7 p.m. before the performances on May 4th.  Guests are invited to come and mingle with attendees, light food and beverage will be provided during the reception.  From 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. well known performers and poets, Keith Flynn and The Holy Men and Quincy Troupe will take the stage.

Keith Flynn is a local award-winning poet, singer and editor.  Flynn is the founder and managing editor of The Asheville Poetry Review, has written numerous books of poetry and essays, was the lead singer for the nationally-acclaimed rock band The Crystal Zoo, and is now the lead singer for Keith Flynn & The Holy Men.  The Holy Men have been described to have incredible music diversity, while blending poetry and soulful music one can find the band shifting from swing to gospel to blues to ballad to bossa nova to boogie chug all within the same song frame.  Click here to learn more about Keith Flynn.

The other performer and poet taking the stage after Flynn is Quincy Troupe, from New York City.  Troupe is the author of seventeen books, he is best known for his works including:  Miles:  The Autobiography (1989), Miles and Me:  A Memoir of Miles Davis (2000) and his collaboration with self-made millionaire Chris Gardner on the latter’s autobiography, The Pursuit of Happyness (2006).  This book served as the inspiration for a film of the same name later that year staring Will Smith.  Click here to learn more about Quincy Troupe.
