Have Fun During the Final Days of Summer

December 16, 2010

Since we are getting closer and closer to back to school season, now is a great time to focus on spending the last few days of summer with your loved ones. From catching a movie and seeing a concert to getting prepared for outdoor adventure and stocking up on school supplies for the upcoming semester, there are plenty of kid-friendly activities to enjoy in Biltmore Park Town Square.

Kick off the week by having fun with the family when you go see a free G or PG movie at the Regal Biltmore Grande Stadium 15. Every Tuesday and Wednesday during the summer, the theater offers free child-friendly movies at 10 a.m. Next week, the features include Pirates Who Don't Do Anything and Imagine That.

If you opt for a Wednesday movie, consider enjoying a whole day of excitement at Biltmore Park Town Square. Visit with one another during a long lunch of pizza, then head over to Asheville City Market–South, where you can find delicious, healthy, and organic food items that are sure to please the palates of everyone at your dinner table.

On Saturday, bring your youngest family members to story time at Barnes & Noble, which occurs every week at 2 p.m.. Later in the day, there will also be a free concert by a local Asheville band. Listen to the live music from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. outside of Brixx Pizza and Hickory Tavern Grill and Raw Bar. Upcoming featured bands include Rattle, The Cheeksters, and The Vinyl Brothers.

Of course, with so many shopping and dining venues, fun can always be found at Biltmore Park Town Square, even in the absence of special events. So come on out and enjoy the final days of summer with style.
