Kyle Petty Charity Ride to Make Final Stop in Town Square

Biltmore Park Town Square is gearing up for a big Saturday night this weekend when Kyle Petty and friends are set to cruise into Asheville for their last stop on the Kyle Petty Charity Ride before they reach their final destination in Randleman, North Carolina. More than 100 motorcycles will line Town Square Boulevard overnight while the riders stay at the Hilton Asheville.

The Kyle Petty Charity Ride is a seven-day cross country motorcycle ride and fundraiser founded by Kyle Petty and wife Pattie in honor of their son. The ride raises money to support Victory Junction, a year round camp for children with chronic disorders or serious illnesses.

Visitors are welcome to look at the bikes, and may even get a chance to talk to some of the Charity Ride's participants. Petty, when he and fellow riders arrive around 4 p.m. on Saturday afternoon, will greet onlookers with a little help from a few local radio stations before settling into enjoying an evening in Asheville. Other celebrities participating in the ride include several NASCAR drivers, model Niki Taylor, and athlete Hershel Walker. The group will depart Town Square at 8:30 a.m. on Sunday morning.

So this weekend, whether motorcycle fan or not, consider coming by Town Square to support Kyle Petty's worthy cause. Restaurants like Hickory Tavern Grill & Raw Bar, Brixx Pizza, Travinia Italian Kitchen (all of which offer outdoor seating), and more, in addition to Asheville's only stadium-seat movie theater offer plenty of options for those seeking a fun-filled weekend.
