FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Luella’s Bar-B-Que to open new location in South Asheville
North Asheville barbecue restaurant expands operations to South Asheville where Luella’s first store opened in 2007.

ASHEVILLE, NC (August 24, 2015) – One of Asheville’s most successful restaurants, Luella’s Bar B Que, will expand operations outside of their Merrimon Avenue location and open a second store in South Asheville’s Biltmore Park Town Square.  Growth in daily restaurant business spurred owners Jeff and Ashley Miller to pursue expansion opportunities. The new restaurant is expected to open in December.

Miller is excited about the Biltmore Park location because it provides an opportunity to be part of one of Asheville’s largest and most influential local Asheville businesses. Luella’s brings an award winning menu of traditional southern flavors that has been featured in local and regional publications to an area offering more regional and national brands than local.

Over the years, Miller has developed and instituted an operational philosophy that focuses on providing for the community to sustain the business.

“At Luella’s, we’ve committed to looking outside the four walls to help shape what it means to be a successful business in Asheville and part of that is the value of participating for the benefit of community, working hand in hand with a healthy business,” explains owner and pit-boss Jeff Miller.

Luella’s opened in 2007 at Skyland Crest Shopping Center and quickly developed a loyal following.  Miller was able to move to the Merrimon location in July of 2009, despite the region being in the middle of a recession. In a time when many Asheville businesses were closing, Luella’s was able to move to a larger location with a more concentrated population and have enjoyed considerable success since.

ABOUT LUELLA’S BAR-B-QUE
TASTE THE LOVE.
Luella’s Bar-B-Que is named after owner and Pit Boss Jeff Miller’s grandmother Luella.  “Grandma Lue” did all the cooking when the family would get together for Sunday dinner and holidays.  Scratch cooking from the garden at its best. What she handed down was an understanding of how great food is created – honest good cooking, made with a loving hand. As part of our mission, we understand the importance of giving back to our community through donations and support. We take a holistic approach to how we can do our part to make a difference for the whole. In order to make the largest impact we can, our contributions are focused to specific causes, including Education, Music & Arts, Hunger Awareness, and giving the gift of life through Blood Banks.
