Biltmore Park Town Square Continues to Grow

December 15, 2010

As construction continues on Biltmore Park Town Square, the sidewalks, shops, and venues are gradually bringing vitality to the area. Cradled by the Blue Ridge Mountains in South Asheville, the town square is setting new standards for community development in the region. Based on the shared visions of Biltmore Farms and Charlotte-based Crosland, Asheville’s premier mixed-use community offers a wide array of activities while promoting sustainability with green building practices.

Following a high-density plan, the community development uses 25 fewer acres of land compared to traditional suburbs, while the close proximity of amenities reduces driving. Sustainable designs also include low flow water and reduced energy use with the installation of green elements like solar panels. Erosion control and storm water management are included in the utilization of smart building practices that adhere to one of Biltmore Farm’s core tenants of community development: environmental sustainability and quality of life.

In following with these principles, Biltmore Park Town Square enjoys an upscale state-of-the-art YMCA, which neighbors national retailers and local businesses, making for an inclusive experience of diverse people and places. Recalling the charm of the main streets of the past, Town Square is a picturesque setting for living, working, shopping, and other recreational activities. The development fosters a sense of community by combining an urban experience with a neighborhood atmosphere, all the while staying environmentally friendly.

The YMCA, Regal Cinema (Asheville’s first 15-screen movie theater), REI, and P.F. Chang’s are soon to be joined by Barnes & Noble, a luxurious Hilton Hotel, Brixx Wood Fired Pizza, and additional restaurants, retailers, offices, and residential space. With ongoing coverage by local media and raves from current and future tenants, this South Asheville sustainable development continues to earn a reputation as the place to be.

Biltmore Farms also participates in environmentally friendly building in their private Asheville communities. For more information, please visit the following links:
